Learn How To Survive The Apocalypse In Style

condo_0.jpgSince it's still summer in most places, the majority of us aren't thinking much besides "what sunscreen should I use today?" and "why are back to school commercials so annoying?"

We're certainly not spending our time fearing the possible End of Everything, better known as December 21st, 2012.

Even though our weather is going bonkers and oil spills are taking out whole ecosystems, most of us don't believe 2012 will look anything like that awful John Cusack movie by the same name (why Cusack, why?!)

Still, just in case that crazy guy on the corner is right…wouldn't you want to know where to go in case this is one of the last Augusts you'll ever be able to enjoy?

If so, MNN.com has put together a comprehensive list of "The Best U.S Places to Survive The Apocalypse," and even though it's half tongue-in-cheek, a reader can't help but secretly take notes.

For instance, did you know that the Greenbrier Resort, a luxury vacation spot in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., has a 112,544-square-foot Congress-commissioned bunker underneath? Built to withstand a nuclear holocaust that never happened in 1958, the bunker has everything from "decontamination chambers" to "an intensive care unit." Even though it's no longer fully functional, it's still a great place to keep in mind in case some country decides to push the big red button.

If you're more about style when it comes to surviving The Rapture, check out The Survival Condo; "a former Atlas-F missile silo" that "extends 200 feet below the Earth’s surface." Not only will you be safe, but you'll have "Kohler bath fixtures…a Jacuzzi tub…a full-size pool, a spa, a fitness room, a library and a movie theater." Who cares how long it takes for society to build itself back up again? Indoor pools rock.
