On my latest trip to Whole Foods I decided to do something uncharacteristic and wander towards the frozen dessert aisle. Upon arriving I was greeted simultaneously by many different ice creams (diary, soy, rice, and coconut), gelatos, and sorbets. Sorbets sounded the healthiest so I paid the most attention to them. There was a row that stood out-they were a variety of small, glass jars. They had simple paper labels and were made by a local company in Venice called Truly Raw Gourmet. They came in appetizing flavors, Vanilla Cappuccino, Coconut, Chocolate Crème, Strawberry Banana, Berry Delight, and several more. Even more astounding was the price of one, tiny glass jar-ten dollars. Standing in shock for a moment, staring at the bottle that was not only the smallest but the most expensive I then decided anyone confident enough that their sorbet is worth ten dollars is worth trying and stuck the Vanilla Cappuccino flavor in my basket.
Once I got home I opened the jar and grabbed a spoon. It was delicious, full of simple, flavorful ingredients. It was a perfect blend between vanilla and cappuccino (though it was an African alternative to coffee that does not possess caffeine) with hints of coconut. It was not high in calories and was made with only a handful of ingredients, most of them raw and organic. It was definitely worth ten dollars and might even be the most delicious sorbet I have ever had. The bottle was emptied quickly.
