As promised, BMW will roll out an entirely new sub-brand by 2013 that will be dead set on shaking up the green car segment. But will the "BMW i" fleet include vehicles at least remotely based on the oh-so-sexy MegaCity and Vision Efficient Dynamics concepts?
Yes, and yes. (And the people rejoiced...)
As a matter of fact, the mock-up pictured above hints hard at the original designs of the MegaCity and VED. Though the concept of those two vehicles has carried over to the "BMW i" brand, the names will not. The production vehicles will be not-so-cleverly dubbed the i3 and i8.
I wonder if Intel will file a copyright infringement suit.
No one seems to really know what the "i" in BMW i stands for, so let's ponder that for a bit. Is it because the brand will be irresistible, inexpensive, inducing of sticker shock, important for the planet, or maybe even an incestuous marriage of sustainability and sexiness?
What do you think?
