For those of you that are not fans of sports, the NBA is the National Basketball Association and in one week they will host their annual All-Star weekend that will happen in Los Angeles this year.

The All-Star weekend is filled with activities for the fans and the NBA celebrates the weekend with the best players and big sponsors.  So basically they are on good behavior wining and dining and showcasing a great event.  However, not only are they putting on a good event but also doing good deeds via it's NBA Cares program.  NBA Cares is a program that has the stars of the league working with local communities and children to promote various charitable causes from promoting education, to helping build houses, and even building gardens via their green initiative.

Last year, the NBA held a Green Week where teams all participated in various events promoting a green lifestyle, the league unveiled new eco-friendly uniforms and more!  This past weekend the NBA held a E-Waste Recycling program where fans could trade old electronics for tickets to this weekend's All-Star Fan Jam Session.

Former NBA Star Mitch Richmond was a part of the program and is one of many former players that are still involved with the NBA and the NBA cares program.

We give big props to the NBA and look forward to this year's Green Week festivities.
