So you say you hate those insanely loud air horns you hear screeching at any given sports event? Well I think that's only b/c you wish you'd have brought one of your own. No, I'm not talking about vevuzelas – eco-friendly as they may be – I mean those canisters of compressed air with a big horn on top.

The only problem with those epically annoying (errr, I mean awesome) air horns are that they can be an unexpected part of the waste that is generated by any big sporting event.

...until now.

Think Geek has come up with an eco-friendly air horn, dubbed the EcoBlast.

With this air horn, you get about 50 ear-piercing half-second blasts, but instead of the fun being over, you just pull out the included hand pump and refill the canister with compressed air.

Think Geek's EcoBlast refillable air horn isn't just reducing waste, it also spares the atmosphere from chemicals spewed out of traditional store-bought air horns.

Think Geek says,

Cheering is fun, but it sure can strain your vocal chords. And that's why the air horn was invented. But many air horns blast harmful chemicals out into the air and once they are all used up, they're nothing but trash. Mother Earth is sad. So make her happy, and show your loud enjoyment of something with the Eco-Blast Refillable Air Horn. It's good for you AND for her.

Now PexUniverse has included the EcoBlast in their list of the top 7 useless green gadgets, but I just think they're jealous that they didn't think of it first.

You can snag your own EcoBlast air horn from Think Geek for $24.99 (on sale from $29.99).

Speaking of horns, check out this external electricity-free iPod speaker made from recycled trumpets that I just saw at Treehugger.
