Brammo just announced the acquisition of Quantyaparx. Quantyaparx is an electric dirt bike park concept that featured rival Quantya’s electric motorcycles. The new venture will be renamed BrammoParx and will continue providing a unique park-riding environment. The main difference that park users will notice is that Brammo products will replace all Quantya products.
Brammo, an Oregon based company, acquired the park as a way to expand its brand recognition. The company has announced five different models, but only one is currently available for purchase. At that, it is only franchised and available in Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Strange, but the company is American based and only available in areas of Europe. Brammo is currently exploring franchising partners in the U.S. where electric dirt bikes are less popular than they are overseas.
The acquisition of the park may be a bit like putting the cart before the horse. The company is struggling to bring all of its announced products to market, yet is promising to supply a riding park with brand new models that are not ready for release? Interesting concept. Henry Hudson had the same problem when he was making cars. It didn't work out for him.
