Do you have a sneaking suspicion that your pet is psychic? Does your cat, dog or even fish seem to sense danger before you do? Has your pet ever saved you from a possible catastrophe?
Even though most Americans would probably tell you that they're undecided when it comes to the idea of people having ESP, 43 percent of us believe that our pets have psychic abilities (at least according to an AP-Petside.com poll pulled by the Village Voice). Which, when you think about it, is a pretty giant number.
One particular story from the Petside poll that struck the Village Voice concerned a Miniature Pinscher and an unattended pot on the stove. Apparently, the dog sensed possible fire danger and rushed into an adjoining room, barking until his owners realized what was happening in the kitchen.
While the possibility of cats and dogs having a sixth sense isn't something new, according to Petside, 36 percent of the individuals polled believed their fish was psychic too. Personally, I've never experienced a psychic goldfish, and I thought they only cared about food, but hey…maybe as a kid I just owned stupid ones who's psychic powers never told them to stay away from the filter…
