Now here's something you don't hear everyday:
A North Yorkshore, England man, angry after a lengthy unemployment, apparently called his partner and two young sons to him one afternoon, and once they were all present, took the childrens' pet snake in his hands and proceeded to bit its head off.
41-year-old Barry Laverick then told his horrified family that their little dog was next.
There's no real explanation for why Laverick thought biting the head off of a pet corn snake was a suitable activity to perform in front of his children, but the Daily Mail reports that he had been drinking.
Uh, you think?
Laverick was taken into custody the next day (hopefully no other snakes were eaten in those 24 hours) where a judge sentenced him to 16 weeks behind bars for committing such a "gruesome act" in front of his children.
With any luck, therapy will be a part of that sentence as well, seeing as how normal peopel don't go decapitating snakes with their teeth.
