Tea is a natural resource that has been used medicinally and socially for centuries by Indian's and Chinese people. Its so ingrained in my culture that I have been a tea drinker since being a child. My children have been tea drinkers since they were 1 and they never touch sugary juices etc. Because tea is such a huge part of who I am I never even gave a thought to where my tea comes from and how do the plantations look. Growing up in Ohio we had agriculture of corn and grains which are honestly pretty boring when all you see are acres and acres. Living in California we drive around and see strawberry fields, avocado and orange orchards, nut farms which are not all that exciting to see. But we don't grow tea in the US so I never realized I didn't have a visual for this integral part of my day until my dear friend sent me these beautiful images of Indian Tea Gardens. Who knew tea was is grown in such untouched and picturesque locations. The above image is from tea estates in the western region on India, where you can find some of the finest Teas in the World. Darjeeling is from this region of India and is known as the Champagne of Teas. There is a single estate where they have been making Green Darjeeling as well. Its a light green tea that has less of the grassy texture some other green teas can give. Tea is so high in antioxidants and it such a healthful beverage that making it a part of the everyday experience brings great benefits to us all. Please enjoy these images of these delicious leaves!
