Well Lady Gaga, is known for doing outlandish things and for the most part I am not shocked at anything she does any more.

However, her most recent photoshoot has me a bit concerned because it is a magazine shoot for Vogue.  Yes it is for Japan and well we know their history with Whales and of course heard the stories of sushi being served on naked women.

Yes, freedom of expression and voice is so vital to our world, but I just do not agree with any one wearing a meat bikini for any sort of photoshoot whether it is for artistic purposes or not!

Of course if somehow the article raising awarness about eating healthy or that we should not consume as much meat, then I can see the angle they were going for, but I would still not agree.

Here is PETA's take:

"Oh, Lady Gaga's job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body,"

What do you all think? Is this acceptable??

I find it silly and all for show. Seems like anything celebrities do nowadays isn't for any real purpose besides some form of shock value.

I would have to agree. I think Lady Gaga feels she will be forgotten if she does not add shock value to everything she does.

i like her for entertainment, not really into her type of music but her videos are fun to watch and i like her unique fashion. the first time i ever saw her was the photos with blood smeared on her face which i thought was kinda gross even though i am all into vampires and the like. it just looked gross. This is even grosser to me because i am a vegetarian. but the 'fame monster' is trying to appeal to the masses. and come on folks, some of us very few of us are concerned about what we digest, but what about the masses??? meat meat meat....eat it up. Vogue knows all about the masses and what will sell their mag. unfortunately ignorance prevails...

I think she's a great musician, but this picture of the meat bikini is quite disgusting. She's surely known for her shock value & that's clearly the intention of this picture...it worked but leaves a negative impression of her to me.

I wish there was some explanation on the cover. Instead it just says, "The Naked Truth."

It's idiotic that someone would take the time to not only imagine this image, but then go ahead and make it a reality, while managing to leave out an intelligent byline so viewers might understand what they are looking at. It feels like a dumbing down of something that could have otherwise had a lot of impact. But maybe ya'll are right; that Lady GaGa and her people really aren't interested in making statements with all her crazy outfits, and instead only shoot for shock value, plain and simple (and simplistic).
