How Going Green Goes Easy on Your Wallet

When money is tight, budgeting every penny
is important.  If you would like to
redecorate your rooms or simply add some festive holiday decor, you may feel
like you have few options available.  One
of the easiest ways to add color and decor to your home is by adding some
natural decor.  Not only are these
methods free or very low-cost, they are eco-friendly, beautiful and create a
stunning look in any room.

Flowers Everywhere

Cut flowers from a florist can be extremely
expensive and certainly not within one's limited decorating budget.  However, you can easily grow your own in a
small patch in your backyard.  A
wildflower garden is a great way to enjoy fresh flowers for display all summer
long.  In the winter, the dried flowers
can be pressed and used in frames or displayed from an inexpensive wall pocket
and used as flowers wall art.  A small pack of flower seeds can help you
create wall decor and accessories all year long.

Nature's Bounty

The squirrels will not be the only ones
looking for nature's bounty this fall.  Take a walk with a large basket and collect pine cones, colorful leaves,
twigs and acorns.  When you get home, use
them to decorate your fireplace mantel, in a dish as a centerpiece display on
the table, or scent them with drops of pine or cinnamon oil.  You can also save some of the pine cones to
spray paint gold and silver for the winter holidays.  The twigs can be tied together with hemp to
create natural wall hanging crosses for almost no cost.

While going green may seem like it will be
an expensive proposition, the simplest ways to achieve such a lifestyle are to
simply look at what is around you.  With
some creative thinking and a willingness to incorporate nature into your interior
decor, you will find that going green is much less expensive than you ever
imagined.  This year, save the planet and
your wallet, by using the decorating tools that nature provides free of charge.
