There's nothing better in the morning that a good ole cup a joe. Well, what about a local, organic, fair-trade, bird-friendly cup a joe? Sounds pretty good to me. This Los Angeles based coffee shop sells organically grown, fair-trade, Rainforest Alliance certified coffee and roasts it right here in L.A.

I first discovered Cafecito Organico at the Silverlake farmer's market & made a point to go back for their delicious brew every Saturday. They still frequent the Silverlake and Hollywood farmer's markets as always, but now you can satisfy your conscience coffee craving 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The staff is friendly and the vibe is unmatched. The owners, Angel Orozco and Mitch Hale, used their love for coffee and community to make a difference. Coffee is one of my favorite beverage items, and it's nice to know that I can purchase coffee that mirrors my sustainable values.

Cafecito Organico's processes and methods say it all! They offer locally roasted beans and individually brewed organic coffees from countries such as Peru, El Salvador, and Costa Rica, to name a few. They use compostable to go cups and lids and offer a wide range of vegan goodies in their new home off of Hoover and Bellevue in Silverlake. And of course, if you want to stay there to enjoy your beverage of choice, they have ceramic cups for hot drinks & glass cups for cold drinks. They're located in a residential area, so it really feels like it's part of the neighborhood. I used to go to Intelligentsia on Sunset & I swear Cafecito Organico out brews them any day :). Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself.
