One of the new popular TV shows this season is the sci-fi show The Event on NBC. The Event is about a government cover up about aliens that crash landed on Earth in Alaska back in the 40s.
Some of the aliens actually escaped the crash site and were able to live among humans while the other aliens were captured and imprisoned.
Well one of the aliens, Simon (played by actor Brandon Lee) is a double agent working for the CIA and has been helping his people from the inside. No one really knows the aliens true intentions yet, but they do seem to care about humans.
In this week's action packed episode Simon is seen driving a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid! So technically the government and the CIA agents are driving Hybrid SUVs, but when you look at the other vehicles it seems like only Simon is the one using the hybrid.
Some obsessed fans might take this as a sign that the aliens actually care about Mother Earth, but most likely just some nice product placement by NBC. It is good to see a hybrid get some screen time on a major network and popular show like The Event even if it is still a gas guzzling SUV.
NBC is known for the Green is Universal initiative and annual Green Weeks featuring programming focusing on eco-friendly story lines. So we are big fans of NBC even if some of their programming is not doing well in the ratings.
So if the aliens on NBC like to drive hybrids then we should as well!
