Annually after Thanksgiving is BlackFriday, but the Monday after has become CyberMonday where online gadget sites began offering super deals. Over the last several years the CyberMonday craze has spread to several other retailers as well.
One of the retailers posting deals was DKNY. However, PETA had other plans for DKNY's CyberMonday deals. PETA asked it's supporters on their website to flood the social network fanpage of DKNY on Facebook with protests about fur products being produce with bunny fur.
Here is PETA's statement:
We're banking on the fact that this ingenious message-sent on the busiest online shopping day of the year- will make the throngs of people perusing Donna Karan's pelt-pimping page think twice about giving their hard-earned bucks to a bunny butcher. After all, there's nothing appealing about wearing fur from rabbits who howl like human babies when their skin is peeled away from their body as if it were a sweater.
So after you finish shopping online, how about using your Facebook page to help us spread the word that Donna Karan butchers bunnies?
The campaign also had 13 Facebook users changing their profile images to letters to spell out "DK Bunny Butcher" when they all posted in succession. Check out the image below to see how it looked and let us know what you think of PETA's recent tactic.
