People who have water, take it for granted and don't think about how precious the water is. They are not fully aware of the shortages that may be looming in the near future.
For awareness purposes, I am going to cite a few examples of the pending water crisis situations that may happen at these places:
1). In Mexico city water is being pumped out from the aquifers faster than any replacement water coming into the aquifer.
2). To replenish the aquifers in Florida, permission is being saught to pump down untreated surface water.
3). In Texas, private, for-profit companies are trying to pump out aquifers without any plans to replenish the aquifers.
4). Aquifers around the globe are being pumped for irrigation purposes.
5). Rivers and streams are the other source of fresh water. But if we keep polluting them the available water will keep decreasing too.
6). Projections are that half of the worlds population will be short of water in 2025.
It is a grim prospect and serious attention needs to be paid fo conseve our water supplies.
