Print, Erase, and Print Again

Printing is sooo 2010. I mean c'mon, it's 2011. Let's all get with the times and stop printing out every report, picture, and not-so-funny forwarded email.

I honestly can't remember the last time I printed something. What was the last thing you shot off the printer?

If we do have to keep printing off documents, this design looks like a great idea. The paper isn't any different, but the ink is. Yanko Design says,

Typically paper fibers can go through the recycle process five-to-seven times. Not too bad, but since we’re talking about innovation here, how about increasing that lifespan? The Eco Printer uses specialized ink composed of photographic materials that disappear from UV irradiation. What this means is that non-sensitive documents can be printed, erased, and reprinted increasing the life-cycle of paper. Awesome!

Just like the Ring-shaver I showed you last week, this design is a 2010 Red Dot Concept Design winning and entry.

Until we have epic technology like this, how do you reduce the amount of paper you run through the printer?
