Let me just go ahead and say it. Wind turbines are ugly. Tranquil as they may be, they mar the landscape in which they dominate. The fact that the giant 3 blade turbines require so much room and harness wind from a only singular direction makes them impractical for a mountainous or urban area.
Enter the Power Flower.
This wind turbine concept from Amsterdam-based firm NL Architects features multiple "petals" with vertical blades that utilize wind from any direction. An array of Power Flowers could simulate beautiful, energy generating urban "forests".
