Another day of celebration is upon us, and like the others St. Patty's Day is a great excuse to indulge in special foods. Many associate the day with the color green and drinking, but don't forget about all the delicious traditional Irish recipes. Here are some meat and dairy free recipes to enjoy:

Irish Soda Bread ~ "Tender and slightly sweet, even the raw dough is delicious. This bread is crunchy on the outside and tender in the middle, and is best eaten warm, right out of the oven."

Stuffed Cabbage ~  "A more impressive presentation than cabbage rolls, this vegan stuffed cabbage features filling in tender cabbage 'bowls'."

Reuben Sandwich ~ Includes recipe for quick homemade corn beef with seasoned salt and the smoked paprika.

Dublin Coddle with Vegan Irish Sausage ~ "It’s simple, yes, but absolutely delicious–hot and filling and the very definition of 'comfort food'...The coddle is then slow-cooked (or “coddled”) until the vegetables are tender; adding dark beer near the end increases the authenticity of the dish and deepens the flavor"

Irish Coffee Cupcakes & Whiskey Frosting ~ with ingredients like cocoa, almond milk, and espresso topped with a creamy whiskey frosting, your friends will be green with envy if you don't share this dessert!

If you plan on drinking, keep in mind that Guinness beer is processed with tissue from the air bladders of fish. You can find out what other beers are vegan and not on Barnivore.
