Whether you are trying to lose weight or wanting to maintain a healthier lifestyle, water is the one beverage you need to be drinking every single day. It not only helps you avoid snacking between meals by keeping you full longer, but also raises your metabolic rate, which can help shed some pounds.

Even though water has zero calories and several health benefits, many people will opt out of drinking the recommended 8 cups a day because it is too boring and lacks flavour. Here are 3 ways you can spice up water (the natural way) so you will never look at sodas again.

Delicious Decoration
Restaurants have the right idea -- instead of only decorating your glass with a lemon slice, squeeze it into the water! Not only will this add some natural sweetness, but help to cleanse out your system as well. If you want to have this ready to drink, slice up a lemon in a jug of ice water and refrigerate overnight.

Cold As Ice
Instead of using regular ice cubes to keep your water cool, use frozen fruit instead! You can either purchase fruit already frozen at your grocery store, or buy it fresh and freeze it yourself. Try cantaloupe, honeydew melon or pineapple for a subtle burst of flavour.

Tea Time
Instead of drinking your favourite tea hot, why not chill it in the fridge before drinking? Although you have to prepare it the night before, one herbal tea bag can go a long way. This will get you close to the taste of iced tea without any added sugars or calories!
