Label Guilt

far-foods-2.jpgWe always hear "Buy Locally".  Well James Reynolds, in the UK, has created labels on food products that tell you exactly how far an item had to travel to reach its destination and how much carbon emissions were released into the atmosphere.  You final receipt upon checkout tallies the total emissions from all the products you purchased that day.

If labels were so detailed like this I would probably have a much more difficult time purchasing items.  I think the concept is great and would love to see something like this here in the United States.  James_Reynolds_Food_labels.gif

At Dominick's here in Chicago, they do post labels on some fruits/veggies, saying where they came from and they are offering a lot more organic food.
