Missouri voters have recently approved a measure that will require the utility companies to draw on renewable energy for 15 percent of their electricity supply by 2021. This measure was approved by 66 percent of the voters and was paased by every county except one........

The renewable energy is defined as - wind power, solar thermal power, solar photovoltaic power, small hydro power, a variety of biomass energy sources, and fuel cells powered by hydrogen from renewable sources......

This is the way forward for USA and I hope all the States follow the lead taken by the people of Missouri.

Great news -- I keep missing all of these headlines out in the "real world" so I'm glad that you're posting them here. Hopefully in 5 more years, we'll be chuckling at the notion of the 15% figure because we'll be up to 50%...or maybe even more.

You are right Elizah, I think the momentum is building towards a more rapid conversion to renewable energy by the populace. This may be coming because of the awareness that is being generated to live a more sustainable life style, and because of the long term environmental/economic necessity of finding non-fossil source of energy......
According to a report by American Council on Renewable Energy, given the right policies and conditions, renewable energy resorces could generate 635 GW of new energy by 2025. That would be about 25 percent of the projected energy requirements.......
Renewable energy can take America in a very forwarded looking and progressive direction. Wavering government policies and supports have not been helpful in the attainment of getting clean sources of energy.. That's where grass roots effort by people like 'greenwalas' can help make the general populace more aware of the benefits of having a non-fossil energy source. People of Missouri are trying. We all need to get behind this effort.
