Desserts plays a big role in most people's lives - it seems no big meal is complete without a sweet ending. Unfortunately most desserts are unhealthy and leave us feeling heavy, tired, and guilty from ingesting all the sugar. Simply eating a vegan dessert makes a big difference on the body, especially for cholesterol. Luckily there are some phenomenal plant-based sweet recipes on the net that won't ruin your figure, especially with bathing suit season around the corner.

Here are 5 from the month of May that are extra healthy without compromising taste. Is it a coincidence that made of the current dessert recipes on the web involve coconut?

Raw Blueberry Lavender Cheesecake Tart ~ the mouthwatering photo really speaks for itself. This recipe looks too good to be vegan, not to mention raw.

Coconut Date Bars ~ "dates, coconut and rolled oats just plain go together. These not-too-sweet bars will satisfy your sweet tooth, and leave you  feeling that you’ve eaten something nutritionally sound."

Raw Coconut Cream Pie ~ the ingredients seem like an odd combination, but it seems to result in something mighty delicious.

Lemon Cake with Coconut Cream and Raspberry Coulis ~ Rustic in style, it is light, yet substantial, with maple syrup adding sweetness and cornmeal providing a hint of crunch.

Raspberry Pecan Tart ~ "There’s just something about toasted pecans and tangy raspberry jam that make for a delectable combo"
