The Nemesis Wind Powered Sportscar Blowing The Roof Off Of Conventional Transportation

Hopping into my car to square away errands, visit friends, or make a quick emergency ice cream run used to be about as second nature to me as making fun of Keanu Reeves' various so-called acting gigs. These days, I'm not snickering to myself as much because watching him play actor on screen is just plain sad, and for the first time in my life, I can imagine how he must feel. I may not be experiencing the general distain of America every time I pull in six figures limping my way through countless lackluster performances, but I can sympathize with K's emotional plight because I too have born witness to complete strangers (okay, my family and neighbors) giving me the stink eye.

In my case, it's in response to me taking "unnecessary" trips in my car. Yes, I live just a few blocks away from the store, so I realize that the disapproving tsk-tsk that I receive is well-deserved but I've enjoyed an instant gratification kind of lifestyle for a long time. Taking an hour out of my day walking round trip to mail a letter isn't an adjustment I think I can easily get accustomed to. Still, the scrutiny has made me sulk a little. I'm actually this close to inviting Keanu over for a bro-laboration...maybe even an acting/greening pep talk.

If I could just change up my transportation without pedaling my heart out, I'd be happy to make the switch. I'm definitely into innovative technology and helping the planet, but most of the cutting edge eco-vehicles I've seen out there are really cost prohibitive for my budget. Still, I like learning about the latest emerging designs and dreaming about owning one myself, so I just thought I'd tell everyone about a really unusual car that I personally think blows the Prius out of the water.

Dale Vince, a British business man who achieved his wealth constructing wind turbines, has in the past year been creating a sportscar with no environmental impact. Amazingly, it looks like he's finally succeeded. Initially dubbed the Zero Carbonista project, his vehicle has now taken on the working title of The Nemesis, although he's also considering The Zero and The Storm as backup names. His one-off prototype has evolved throughout the months into a lean, mean electric wind-powered machine capable of reaching 100 mph. Throughout a lengthy series of videos, he's documented the trials and tribulations that his team has faced, but as you'll see in the most recent clip, it's really taken taken on a life of its own. Actual hard core data on his vehicle is extremely tough to come by, so for now, this teaser will have to suffice.
