Bamboo iPod speakers

We've talked about several different solar-powered iPod speakers in the past, from the nearly bomb-proof iPod speakers to solar iPod speakers that look like cute carrots, but sometimes the coolest way to amplify your tunes is without electricity at all...even solar electricity.

Enter iBamboo.

This clever project is the brainchild of Anatoliy Omelchenko and has a strong campaign building behind it on Kickstarter. Anatoliy says,

Bamboo is stronger, more flexible and forgiving than plastic or some metals. A foot-long, whole link of bamboo requires only a few modifications to make it an iPhone-compatible speaker. The top of the bamboo is precision-cut to create an opening that, in concert with the natural construction of bamboo, serves as a fitted dock that fixes the iPhone in place.

iBamboo is a practical and aesthetically pleasing device, with a simple design. It is machined, laser-cut, and then finished by hand, which allows for fast, efficient, eco-friendly production.

The projected price of the iBamboo is $25-$30, which means it will pass the eco-snobbery test by not making consumers pay a pointless "green tax" for it.

I'm looking forward to the debut of this gadget and hope they designer builds it out to other devices as well.
