Telemundo star Natalia Villaveces is the latest celebrity to join PETA's campaign for promoting plant based diets by wearing a dress made of vegetables. As you can see in the new ad above for PETA, the dress worn is mainly made with lettuce and last year Bollywood actress Lara Dutta wore a similar dress PETA.

These dresses definitely beat Lady Gaga's dress made of meat and I think have a much better message.

The latest ad uses the tag line "Let Vegetarianism Grow on You" and the capaign is aimed at the Latin community.

Here is what Villaveces had to say:

"Once I made that connection between loving an animal and eating an animal is when things click in my brain."

Latino's have this obsession with everything fried, with a lot of animal protein, and, yeah, it's true-we have a lot of problems with obesity, we have a lot of problems with diabetes, we have a lot of problems with asthma. We have a lot of problems with a lot of things that come from it."

More from PETA:

Healthy, plant-based diets support a lifetime of good health and provide protection against numerous health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and strokes. Vegans and vegetarians have lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels than meat-eaters. Plus, adult vegans are, on average, 10 to 20 pounds lighter than adult meat-eaters and tend to live six to 10 years longer than their carnivorous counterparts.
