Here is a Wizard costume posted at Disney Family Fun

Materials

Materials for our basic beard

  • Gray felt
  • Hot glue
  • 2 yards gray fabric
  • Rope
  • Paint

Instructions

Beard: Make a long beard using our template and the basic instructions.

Hat: Shape a large piece of gray felt into a cone around your child's head. Trim the excess fabric and seal the seam with hot glue (an adult's job), then trim the bottom edge to make it even. Make a brim for the hat by cutting a felt circle that's about 3 inches larger than the cone's opening. Mark and cut out an interior circle that's 1/2 inch bigger in diameter than the cone's bottom. Cut through the side of this ring shape as shown.

Glue the brim to the outside of the cone, adjusting the fit using the break in the ring. Embellish the hat with an extra star and some of the cord you used for the robe's belt.

Robe: Fold the fabric in half and cut a neck hole in the center. Add a rope belt (which goes under the robe in back).

Complete the costume with painted canvas slipper-shoes and a walking stick made by tying scraps of fabric to a large stick.

NOTE:

Look around your home and you may find wizard material laying around waiting for you to discover and add to the wizard costume for a dazzling effect - now that is magic.
