Just like most Americans, I am a frequent shopper of Target stores. There's one in just about every town, the prices are great, and I love the variety of products to chose from.
If you visit Target, then more than likely you've received one their $5,000 gift card surveys at the bottom of your receipt. I try to complete the said surveys in hopes of winning but also to take advantage of the chance to voice my consumer opinion.
Each time I filled out the survey and the question, "what suggestions or improvements can we make?" appeared, I would write "vegan and organic products!". Well guess what? They finally did it! Target now offers vegan options in their food section,
Items range from hummus to tofu. YES! I wrote TOFU, amazing I know! In addition to MorningStar Farms which offers some vegan meat substitutes, Target is now carrying Gardein-a popular plant-based meat like product for vegans.
Other products are offered at Target including soy and almond milks, and organic snacks. Even Cacadian Farms has their cereal for sale at a much more affordable price than my favorite local grocery chain.
I was so excited during this trip that I pulled out my smart phone and started snapping photos.
Now I know that my survey imput alone isn't what got the fire lit under Targets you-know-what to recognize that not everyone in society is a meat-eater and do in fact shop their stores. It just goes to show that corporate giants do take what the little guys says into consideration.
