I love opening my mailbox at this time of year and catching up on friends and family through beautiful and sometimes silly photo greeting cards. Last year was the first year where I decided to forgo my traditional card and send out a nicely composed online greeting card. Its not the same! I hang the photos on my mantel and after the holidays I transition them into my coat closet so I can see my loved ones all year long. So am I removing myself and my family from my friends holiday tradtions by sending just and email? I tell you I am in a conundrum. On one hand the act of going to purchase the card which has come from God only knows where to then send it off again seems like a very bad greenie act. On the other hand there is something so nice being on someone's mantel and being a part of their celebration if only through a photograph.
I know that now I am traveling down the road of the eco-friendly so I will once again forgo the real card for the virtual one but in this instance its just not the same.
