According to researchers, by 2050 population is expected to be around NINE BILLION. Curent population is around SEVEN BILLION. About one in seven, are currently going hungry. With the addition of another TWO BILLION to the current population, scientists are concerned how can the additional mouths be fed. In a recent article in the SCIENCE, researchers are wondering - HOW THE WORLD MAY ONE DAY FEED NINE BILLION PEOPLE - SUSTAINABLY? It is a question that begs some answers, but no one can put any definitive answers to this. 'The difficulties are many and large, according to the paper, "growing competition for land, water and energy, and the over-exploitation of the fisheries, will affect our ability to produce food, as will the urgent requirement to reduce the impact of the food system on the environment.". FURTHER COMPLICATING THE PROBLEM OF LIMITED RESOURCES - WILL BE THE NEED TO ADAPT TO A CHANGING CLIMATE. Lot to think about. I hope people pay heed to these types of warnings and in our own individual ways try to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
