Walnuts are a great source of omega 3 - fatty acids, which are commonly found in fatty fish such as salmon. They have been found to help our heart, strengthen mental acuity, used as an anti-inflammatory, for weight management and much more. Recently walnuts have been touted as a smart addition to many diets. But what I didn't know, is walnuts could also heal scratches on my wooden furniture! So not only does it heal the inside of my body but the outside of my cabinets? Its a little miracle inside a hard shell.
I love sustainably found wooden furniture, but with a family of boys, my furniture takes a beating. Now I have a natural answer to repair all the scratches and it takes only minutes.
Remove the walnut from its shell and gently rub the walnut in circular motions around and along the scratch in question. Do this for a few minutes taking care to rub along and across the scratch. Then take a 5 minute break while the oils from your walnut begin to seep into the scratch. Finish off by polishing the area with a soft cloth.
I would love to know if this little trick worked for you and if you have some good tips of your own to share.
