Many potted indoor plants may be toxic to humans and pets. In this regards it may be appropriate to be aware of such plants and take precautionary measures to keep them out of easy reach of humans, (especially kids) and pets.  

Here are 9 dangerous plants that you may have in your home:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

DAFFODILS: Flowers are toxic, especially if the bulb are ingested. Can cause intense stomach problems, resulting in vomiting and diarrhea, high blood pressure, tremors and irregular heart beat. Can be toxic and fatal to both humans and pets.

HYACINTH: Share the same symptoms with daffodils when ingested - primarily nausea that leads to vomiting and diarrhea. Toxic and fatal to pets.

ALOE VERA: The plant's skin and subsequent yellow layer of latex is mildly toxic to pets if ingested.

ENGLISH IVY: This plant can grow indoors and outdoors. It is poisonous to humans, pets and livestock if ingested. Symptoms include breathing difficulties, convulsions, vomiting, and in extreme cases, paralysis and coma.

HYDRANGEA: Eating flower buds can cause stomach pains, vomiting, diarrhea, heavy breathing, lethargy, and even lead to coma. It can be poisonous to pets also.

DIEFFENBACHIA: Highly toxic if ingested by humans and pets.

AZALEA: Are low toxicity plant for both humans and pets.

IRIS: If ingested can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea and fever in people and pets.

PHILODENDRON: Poisonous to both humans and pets. Ingesting them result in painful burning and swelling of lips, tongue and throat, and can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
