Our good friends over at www.cnn.com (Saeed Ahmed) posted an article today that I thought was exactly in the spirit in which Greenwala was founded. That simple solutions can lead to big change. That anyone can make a difference.
You can read the entire article by clicking on the above the image. In a nutshell, inventor John Bohmer a father of two wanted to make a difference. With $5 worth of supplies. He created the cardboard oven. It was such a great idea that he won a contest beating out 300 other entries at the Forum for The Future supported by the sustainability organization with the same name and Richard Branson.
The Kyoto Box as named by Bohmer, is a terrific solution for people in impoverished areas. Not only can it boil water and provide clean drinking water for families, it can also cook food without having to use wood. Which could at the end of the day help reduce deforestation and minimize the impact of climate change.
What do you think? Do you have an idea that is simple and easy like The Kyoto Box? Let us know.
