The moment that many girls wait for, the big day can help the environment as well; I am talking about the Wedding Day.  Now society is noticing how important is to help the environment, and that together we could all start making a difference; this is why many couples are deciding to go green on their wedding day.  The article I found,  “Why Green is the New Wedding White: Eco Friendly Weddings,” gives some tips about how you can make your wedding eco friendly, including the decorations, invitations, food, flowers, etc.  The best part of all is that your budget will not increase; in fact it can reduce costs of the wedding, if you go green.

First, you can start with your wedding ring; there are jewelry companies that are pro eco-friendly gold rings. That way, the day of your wedding, you are not only committing to spend the rest of your life with your significant other, but also you are helping the planet as well.  Second, for your invitations you could use recycle paper.  There is nothing wrong with using recycle paper for your invitations, in fact there is special recycle paper for special events, like your wedding.  You could use other sources of paper for your invitations, like bamboo or hemp.  One of my suggestions is that since everything is digital nowadays, why don’t you make your invitations digital.  With this you go paperless, and your invitations will look original, unique, and more creative; you could even make them interactive.  How about that, you like the idea?  Let’s be realistic, people receive the invitations, and most of the time they end up throwing them away.  That is why, go digital or use recycle paper; you will save money and time.  Third, everybody thinks that since flowers are natural they will not cause any harm to the environment.  However, they are commonly spread with pesticides, which pollute the groundwater, as mentioned in the article.  Don’t worry, there is a solution for everything, you could use grown flowers, or potted plants; there are many places where they sell them, and they could make them look amazing for your wedding day.  Fourth, we all know that there is organic food out there, and then you could feed your guests with delicious, and fancy organic food.  Fifth, your decorations can be made with bamboo or other eco friendly materials.  Last but not least, and the most important thing, your dress can be made with eco friendly and natural materials such as silk.

As you could see, there are many ways to help the environment, even in your wedding day.  You can make a difference, and make of your most important day the best day, and the most rewarding one for helping the planet.
