Do you think that you know what's in a landfill? What do you think is
the one item that takes up the most space in a typical landfill?
According
to The American Chemistry Council, the answers may surprise you. The
litter that is typically seen strewn along roadsides and around storm
drains is not necessarily the same stuff that ends up taking up lots of
space in a landfill.
This "trash talking" article might cause
readers to question what they think they know about garbage in
America. What about this trashy issue is more about symbolism and
political correctness than the real truths? What are the issues that
really need to be addressed and debated? Or should this entire
discussion be tossed out with last week's dirty diapers?
