Bottled Water costs more than $1.50 per bottle. That is 1,900 times the price of tap water, which means bad news for your WALLET - an average US citizen spends over $400 every year on bottled water.
HEALTH - can be damaged by toxic chemicals like Bisphenol-A(BPA), leached from bottled water. BPA intake can also cause Cancerous Cells in your body.
ENVIRONMENT - is tainted by the production, transportation, packaging and disposal of plastic bottled water.
In the year 2004 the Bottled Water usage was marked as 26,000,000,000 liters which is nearly 28,000,000,000 Plastic Bottles in a year. Of which 80% end up as garbage. 1,500 water bottles end up as garbage EVERY SECOND. 26,000,000,000 liters means 17,000,000 barrels of OIL that was used to produce those plastic bottles. That OIL could have been enough to fuel about 100,000 cars for that year. 26,000,000,000 liters also contribute to an addition of 2,500,000 tons of carbon dioxide that was produced in the manufacturing of the plastic bottles. ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS is spent every year by consumers on Bottled Water. An amount like this even makes the Federal Bailout amount look small.
Research shows that for a fraction of the amount EVERY ONE on the planet could have safe drinking water and proper sanitation. Think you can help?
If you only drink bottled water, are you sure you know all the facts about bottled water ? If you don't then lets just say you are in for a big surprise. You spend the money, pollute the earth, risk polluting the aquifers and other bodies of water. Survey shows that 35% of bottled water drinkers think that it is safer than tap water.
Do you keep your bottled water in your car ? You thought it was convenient, didn't you ? But did you know that the heat in the car and the plastic bottle can leach out chemicals that can lead to Breast and other types of Cancers? And even though you might not have kept it in the car. Do you know what extreme temperatures it has been through BEFORE you bought it ? Stored in warehouse - temperatures vary from 26F to 85F. Transported in trucks - temperatures vary from 100F to 150F. Loaded and unloaded - temperatures vary 45F to 100F. Taken to local stores - temperatures vary 55F to 100F.
No matter what you choose, water filters or metal bottles, ditching bottled water keeps mother earth and your wallet green!
If even one person stops using bottled water, 200 less bottles would end up in the garbage this year.

Just a little story I would like to share, on the weekends I am a youth sports photographer so I travel around the state from park to park snapping photos for little leagues, soccer leagues, football, etc and everytime I see all these parents and children tossing their water bottles and soda cans in the trash instead of recycling them. So now I put out an extra bag and ask them to just toss their empty bottle in that one or at the end of the day I ask my other photographers if there are any empty bottles in their trashes and to please put them in mine so that I may take them home and recycle it. Its a small part, but it helps!

I read this and felt I had to share what we are doing to help, not only in the process of eliminating bottled water, but also in process of providing fresh, clean, healthy water. Another issue is our City water (Tap). Studies were done and many harmful chemicals were found in different states around the world, including Prescription Medicine!
I'm happy to say we are providing healthy, clean water to homes, offices, hospitals, farms etc and to areas in the world that do not have much fresh water easily accessible to them! (We are providing water to the Middle East and in Africa)
In our solution to future water problems throughout Florida and the Globe, our company is bringing the Atmospheric Water Generator to the public. The Water Generator (AWG), produces water from air, similar to a dehumidifier, that puts the water through a series of UV, Nanometer, carbon, and filter filtration, and repeatedly. (We have home/office size units and Industrial size units providing just over 1,000 gallons of water a day)
We also offer Vertical Axis Wind Turbines, that come in different sizes for all applications:
300w, 1kw, 4kw, 10kw, and now producing our 50kw.
We are the only Vertical Axis Wind Turbine efficient enough to be utilized in Florida (low wind state, this is why you haven’t seen any turbines in use here as of yet. We are also in process of having Florida Legislation amended to add small wind in order to provide more federal government incentive.)
In essence, the 4kw can run the AWG along with other appliances in case of emergency/catastrophe (ex: as in a “Hurricane Package”).
If we may be of any assistance, or you would like more information, please contact me directly at rickyrico@automatedlife.com.
