Getting The Bad Stuff Out - Home Detox...

Yes, we were personally unhealthy after a very difficult 2008 year, but our home was too.  Zoegetics has also educated us on the ‘Green' side of life, regarding our home with cleaners, soaps, pet products and much more.  Clean Control Corporation (Odoban Products), which is owned by Steve Davison, has a green line that is now part of Zoegetics, called Zoe Clean.  These products are all EPA Stamped and DFE Stamped, which is a high honor regarding Environment Safety.  http://www.epa.gov/opptintr/dfe/pubs/projects/formulat/formpart.htm Learning about these products has helped us understand more on the hazards in the home that were partly to blame for my father-in-laws COPD.

To begin, we ordered our Zoe Clean Starter Kit, which included Kitchen Degreaser, Tub & Shower, Odor Eliminator, and Glass & Surface.  They do have over 30+ products they are releasing through Zoe Clean over the next few months. In the meantime, I will have to pay retail for other products and pray they are EPA and DFE Stamped, however I doubt they are - most aren't.  I get so irritated when I see household products, with new green labeling that appears to be environmentally safe, but when someone actually reads the ingredients - it's not.  If they have phosphates, ammonia, bleach, their not safe.  The ones I have read when in the store are not EPA Stamped, and definitely not DFE Stamped.  What's does this mean, they are practically the same unsafe products you had before, with prettier and misleading labels.   Read the ingredients.

I am anxious for these other Zoe Clean Products, because I know they are safe in the home, and for the environment.  http://www.zoelifestyle.com/pages/zoe-clean.asp  If a child accidentally drank these products, it would be safe!  Now thats safe!  Why am I so concerned now?  Seeing the suffering my father-in-law went through, and knowing my husband was showing symptoms of early breathing difficulties, I knew I had to do something to clean our home of  Volatile Organic Compounds.   These are gases that are given off by many household items.  You can't see them, but at times you can smell them, however they are everywhere.   Cleaning products, polishes, paints, plastics air freshners, pesticides, aerosol sprays and many floor coverings.  They irritate the eyes, nose throat and cause headaches.  Additionally, some may cause more serious illnesses such as asthma, allergies and even cancer.    I open our windows routinely during the week, just to clean out the build up of any toxins lingering about.  This is the easiest and cheapest way I know to detox regularly.

Don't forget also what you use that goes down the drain, or into the air eventually ends up in our waterways or washed back down in rain.  This all affects us, our families, our wildlife and our earth.  You can help yourself, and your environment by cutting back on chemicals in your home and when you DO use use any cleaners, household products, soaps, pet products and such, use products that ARE safe for you, your family, and our earth.  This is why I will now only use Zoe Clean Products, because I know they are 100% and stamped to prove that.   They even use less plastic to help the environment, and are less expensive than any retail product out there.  Hello?  Makes sense, doesn't it?  I thought so!! LOL........

Here are other ways I have used to clean too:

- Lemon juice is good to use when cleaning my chopping board.

- Tea Tree Oil has many uses.  We have used it for an antiseptic and disinfectant for mold & mildew.

- Borax has been used for removing stains, also for mildew, and fleas (brushed into carpet).

- White Wine Vinegar has been used as a stain remover and clean grease.
