TrickleStar is a smart little power strip that stops electricity from being zapped out of your house when appliances and electrical items are left plugged into the outlet. They have a nifty little calculator that allows to calculate how much money you would be able to save and how long it would take you to recoup the cost of a TrickleStar. Apparently I am losing roughly $550 a year on vampires in my house which I found shocking. I consider myself to be a pretty green person who turns off the lights when I am out of the room and we don't run water. But I didn't realize how much energy I was wasting when my electronics are plugged into the walls. They say that 8-12% of electricty usage is from vampires within our home.
