TrickleStar is a smart little power strip that stops electricity from being zapped out of your house when appliances and electrical items are left plugged into the outlet.  They have a nifty little calculator that allows to calculate how much money you would be able to save and how long it would take you to recoup the cost of a TrickleStar.  Apparently I am losing roughly $550 a year on vampires in my house which I found shocking.  I consider myself to be a pretty green person who turns off the lights when I am out of the room and we don't run water.  But I didn't realize how much energy I was wasting when my electronics are plugged into the walls.  They say that 8-12% of electricty usage is from vampires within our home.

This is some good information from the TrickleStar site:

•   6 Outlets 1 Control Outlet 2 Always On Outlets (1 outlet transformer spaced)     3 Switched Outlets
•   Selectable Auto / Manual modes - can function as a normal surge protector
•   Selectable switching thresholds 18W / 35W
•   15A resettable circuit breaker.
•   144,000 amps / 2160 Joules X3 Surge Protection
•   LED Status Indication (Ground, Surge Status, Control, Always On Outlets,     Switched Outlets)
•   <48dB noise filtering.
•   6 foot incoming power cable with angled space saver plug.
