Organic and Entirely Wearable Costumes Just Ripe For The Picking!

The following images of Nicole Dextras' "Weedrobes" so perfectly embody the concept of "Green Art" that I think that they can speak for themselves, but it's hard to resist commenting.

They are lush, earthy, fanciful and entirely organic.

The Vancouver, British Columbia artist has made a fruitful career out of artfully arranging natural components such as leaves, grass, ice and flowers into outstanding and eye-catching statements.

Well aware that they would be prone to natural decomposition, she preserved every one of her creations via camera.

Dextras began her series of eco-costumes in 2007 using flexible tree branches as a framework along with assorted botanical materials such as eucalyptus, magnolia, laurel and yucca leaves laced together with hydrangea, camelia, lilac flowers and hawthorns.

Once her costumes were completed, she hired professional actors to bring them to life.

Any woman knows that to pull an outfit together the right way, she needs the right pair of shoes!

Dorothy would be proud.
