Weird title, huh? I really couldn't think of a more appropriate description, though, because that's exactly what photographer Bobby Neel Adams did with his project entitled "Re-Skinning Nature."

Please bear in mind that absolutely NO trees were harmed in the making of these photographs!

Adams merely utilized a photomontage technique to manually excise collage elements in order to incorporate them into multiple images of trees that he had already captured on film.

The result is a very intriguing take on what happens when nature and man-made materials collide.

While I'm partial to leaving trees in their natural state and am admittedly happy that the photographer didn't "surgically alter them" in real life, Neel Adams has certainly presented an interesting perspective.

This reimagining of nature is even more textural than in reality and creates a bold decor statement, but you know what? I still have a thing for trees au naturel.  What about you?
