Toilet Paper Cardboard Core Art 3.0 -- It's The Eco-Trend That's Sweeping The Globe!

Until we find a viable, eco-friendly alternative to toilet paper, we are always going to be swimming in crunchy cardboard centers that we can either toss in the recycling bin like average environmentally conscious citizens or transform into dazzling works of art.
Just in case you weren't in class when we last spoke about Paris born artist Junior Fritz Jacquet's funky looking cardboard core faces or Brooklynite Yuken Teruya's ode to tree spirit goodness, toilet paper cores are fast becoming the trendy eco-canvas in today's box of artistic tricks.

With sharp blade in hand, Chadou Yama seems to summon Teruya's precise handiwork, but the subject matter is clearly grounded in typical scenes of life rather than within the natural environment.
If you bear in mind how small an average toilet paper core is, it is impressive that Yama can manipulate a blade inside, and like a pop-up book, make various characters come to life.

The contrast of light and shadow in each photo adds a unique dimension to the scenes, enabling different players to come into focus.
I think that this is an adult-project simply because you need a steady hand and a very sharp cutting implement, but any child would marvel at the outcome -- you could become their artistic hero by carving out a new, personalized scene at their request each time a core becomes available!

Then, take a digital photo of each creation throughout the weeks and add it to your child's own online photo album so they can admire each toilet roll carving and maybe even be inspired to create their own when they grow up.
They'll have their memories but still be able to do the right thing for Mother Earth by recycling every core once they've been immortalized on film!
