Mega Residential Complex For Bats and Birds

On occasion, you might see a random bird house decorating the outside of someone's home and think, "Awww, how cute!"
Then, there are those kind of people who are so cuckoo for birds that they design mini residential structures which they hang everywhere they can possibly can.

Some have even been known to create safe havens for bats -- after all, the little guys scratch our backs by wiping out annoying little insects that do nothing but drill into our flesh, so why shouldn't we give them a little tree house to call their own?
In Southeast Wales' Cardiff Bay, Gitta Gschwendtner has taken it about 1,000 steps further by designing integrated bird and bat nesting boxes within the 50 meter long wall of new apartment and housing development.

Four different sized homes for winged creatures -- made out of woodcrete cladding -- are now a part of the new bird and bat friendly wall surrounding a development called Century Wharf.
While their anticipated 1000 residents have not yet moved in, I think that if they planted a bunch of insect-attracting flowers in front, Mother Nature would take its course!
Would you be gracious about sharing your immediate neighborhood with approximately 500 of these little guys?

Come on...you've got to admit that they're kind of cute in a holy moly-went-from-ugly-back-to-cute-kind-of way.
I could definitely imagine myself cuddling one in the palm of my hand and feeding it organic Scooby snacks.
