Squeaky Green Organic Skin Care -- A New Contender To Try!
![]()
While I don't spend too much time in front of the mirror applying potions and lotions, my wife does and lately she's been talking with me about how hard it is to find product lines that are made with 100% organic ingredients.
This kind of thing never used to be on our radar, but ever since we committed to "go green," we've slowly but surely been purging our household of all the toxic, chemical-laden conventional products in favor of items that have as many easy to pronounce ingredients as possible.
I'd be doing everyone a dis-service here if I claimed that this was an "easy" or budget friendly switch -- no way, no how.
We're able to justify it, however, by knowing that we're making a long term investment in our health and well being, and YES, what you apply on your skin is just as important as what you put into your body (food wise).

Since skin is like a membrane, enabling ingredients to pass through to the inner layers of the epidermis, ingredients that are as close to nature as possible are absolutely ideal.
The down side to this philosophy? My wife (and I to some degree) have found that certain products aren't nearly as effective as their traditional cousins -- that is, until she discovered the Body Shop's new line: Nutriganics -- which is made with up to 99% natural origin ingredients.
The Body Shop has long been a proponent of supporting fair trade and cruelty-free cosmetics and body care products -- well before it was on anyone's radar or even considered a "trend" -- but they always lacked a skin care line that boasted certified organic ingredients (via ECOCERT)...that is, until now.
For those who are unfamiliar with ECOCERT, they are considered the golden standard in terms of analyzing organic content in products -- they are highly regarded because they are an independent, global recognized organization that works in over 80 countries to control and certify the legitimacy of organic ingredients.

With 7 specific products in the Body Shop's Nutriganics line -- ranging from a foaming facial wash, toner, smoothing serum, smoothing day cream and smoothing night cream to an eye cream and face mask --there's certainly something for everyone.
This line is admittedly costly compared to traditional drugstore alternatives, but The Body Shop is offering .05 US fluid ounce samples of several to test out and so far, my wife says that she's really pleased with how they perform.
She's tried quite a few natural and organic facial care lines from Whole Foods and other purveyors, but there always seems to be a slight drawback to each -- I'm sure that everyone out there has had a similar experience.
Anyway, I just thought that I'd give everyone the heads-up that you now have another organic skincare option that you can test run with no out of pocket expense...and please feel free to share your feedback with everyone here once you give it a whirl!
