The Uniform Project

Do you know 365 ways to wear on piece of clothing?  Ya, me neither.  But this lady is up to the challenge.  In May of 2009, Sheena Matheiken made a pledge to wear seven identical dresses (one for each day of the week) for an entire year "as an exercise in sustainable fashion."  Everyday, Sheena post a new photograph to her blog with a new look.  Her project is also a fundraiser for Akanksha to help raise money to send Indian children to schools. You can donate money to her cause and even donate accessories to help her out with the rest of the 296 styles!

This is today's style:

This is really cool, Tracey. So many of us have more clothes crammed in our closets than we'll ever know what to do with and yet we complain that we have nothing to wear, so we go to the store and, well, you know the drill. I think that this exercise forces Sheena to become really creative with the resources she already has in her closet -- clever and practical, too. A lot of children are required to wear uniforms 5 days a week....why not adults, too? It definitely makes it easier to get up and go in the morning!

I love this idea but don't think that I have nearly the amount of originality that Sheena has playing "dress up" -- she should be a stylist, she's that good. I just checked out what she's worn for the past month+ and her creative sense is amazing! I love that at the end of the year, all monetary contributions will go toward Akanksha’s School Project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums. What a great cause.
