Cork Popping Out Of The Bottle & Into The World Of Fashion!

You wouldn't think that the material traditionally used to plug up wine bottles and protect our counters from hot-out-of-the-oven casseroles could be used to make ladies' fashion accessories...after all, cork can be somewhat firm and even a little crumbley at times.

Admittedly, I've seen cork used in far more applications than ever before, from floor tiles and furniture to bath mats and cutting boards!

However, Cork Designs has mastered the art of transforming the sustainable resource -- harvested from ancient Mediterranean cork forests -- into earthy eye catching purses as well as ties, wallets, belts, placemats, aprons and a whole slew of other practical items.

Since this is an eco-fashion group, I'm going to focus on their range of purses which are priced from $35 all the way up to $185, depending on size and style.

Extremely lightweight, water and fire-resistant, and very earth-friendly, they are reportedly a lot like nubuck suede in texture and are very durable to boot.

Cork Designs' line offers a nice alternative to traditional purse materials, one that is very fashionable and makes you feel good about living a greener lifestyle!

Furthermore, you can clean their items with soap and water, ensuring that they look their best and remain toxic free for years to come...
