Shattered Dishware Resurrected With Bitter Melancholy, A Heavy Heart & Lots Of Glue
I haven't forgotten about a recent "Green Design" topic I posted about turning old plates into new-to-us- creations.
Let's just consider these dishes the emotionally volatile, black-lipstick-wearing non communicative sister to the previously mentioned cheerleader, everyone-loves-me servingware.

Made by artist Karen Ryan from Second Hand Plates, they are like the
equivalent of releasing a 100% silent yet very raw primal scream.
On a backdrop of vintage florals, Ryan...um...tears down the curtain of prim and proper contentment and pulls a Johnny Rotten.

In her words: "I damage second hand old plates. I remove the decorative patterns that camouflage our everyday lies and in its place I leave words that prick our conscience and create portraits of hidden domestics left open for others to interpret."

Yikes...I know that life can sometimes be a little tough but someone get that girl a sweet little puppy or a candy covered cupcake, stat!!
