Bio Fuel Awareness Photosynthesis Wall
We've sung the praises of algae-based biofuel in countless articles and videos before...but to see the transformation process happen right before your eyes could be considered a marvel of science and art. It might also compell the everyday citizen to put their full support behind the technology. The design architects known collectively as ‘Emergent’ created Los Angeles' Flower Street
BioReactor, an aquarium-like display inserted into the facade
of the building filled with LED lights that help the green algae colonies
within to photosynthesize and produce oil. While the science behind it is fascinating, it's hard to deny that the display is in and of itself glittery, glowing and ethereally beautiful. The average person might think that this transformational process is something that magically occurs in far away factories, and yet through Emergent's display, they can see that it can happen amid very common conditions right in their own backyard.

To add to the green edge of this project, the tree shown in the second photo contains an entire array of solar panels that store energy collected during daylight hours into a battery pack that is able to fulfill the BioReactor's evening power requirements. Very coooool!
