Sometimes, Old News Is GOOD News

The newspaper business is suffering in our current economy, perhaps because people don't have the expendable income that they once did and also due to the overwhelming influence of the internet and "24-7 news" on our lives.
You know what they say...it all ends up being yesterday's news in the end.

While it's great that people are stepping up and recycling their newspapers more than ever before, there are a few designers who are taking it one step further by fashioning unexpected items out of old news pulp.
Like these nifty, stylish Zilka hangers by London-based designer Ryan Frank.

Crafted entirely out of reclaimed British newspapers, they are a clever reimagining of this practical staple in everyone's closet -- who in their right mind would turn their nose up this kind of unique presentation?

Amos Woo and Sharon Ng have taken a slightly different pathway with their newspaper repurposing design (pictured below).

Not nearly as elegant and refined as Frank's hangers, their "CAP" pinhole camera is nonetheless just as practical...it's a fully operational camera constructed out of recycled newsprint.
They've even created an extension for it utilizing a plastic bottle as a tripod for long exposure photos!
