New York City Bike Helmet Designed For The Casual Commuter

In what seems indicative of their new, greener transportation aspirations, the Big Apple has commissioned the design team over at fuseproject to create protective head gear for people who chose to hit the streets on two wheels. 

As more people rediscover the simple pleasure of getting from point A to point B with the air in their face, it's understandable that city officials would want to ensure their safety...after all, they don't call NYC cab drivers crazy for nothin' !

While both designs could easily pass for standard head wear, they are actually made out of ecological materials (polystyrene inner shell) and are designed to withstand impact.

I'm not sure how either style will go over with the female set, but dudes will probably dig 'em...plus you can personalize your helmet with a range of multi-patterned outer covers.
