Abstract City by Christopher Niemann is a New York Times blog in which the award-winning illustrator -- whose work has been an integral part of such mainstay publications as The New York Times Magazine, Atlantic Monthly, American Illustration and The New Yorker -- waxes poetic on the humorous side of life through well-placed words and visual nuances.

He has a rabid following with good reason, because as he demonstrates so effortlessly, less can oftentimes be more.

The photos depicted here are part of the latest entry in his NY Times blog -- they are inarguably so perfect for our Greenwala archives.

They beg the question, could you have come up with a more inspired way to represent biodiversity?

I think not.

In the interest of allowing his brillance to flow, I'll just post the rest of his photo-illustrations below without interruption ;)

If you want to see more of his work, I highly recommend checking out his website at christophniemann.com or purchasing either of his kiddie books -- "The Pet Dragon" or "The Police Cloud" for your children. Good stuff!

In the meantime, which leaf illustration was your favorite, and why?
