"Greenified" Cubicle Living With No Green Thumb Necessary

Do you earn your living 40 hours each week while locked inside of a tiny little office cubicle? There, there...I know how you feel.

One of my hugest complaints (aside from the stagnant air) is the fact that workers in that type of manufactured environment are completely shut off from the real world.

It can get even the most eager worker beaver a little blue and pouty.

Sometimes, all any of us needs is to simply reconnect with the great outdoors -- it can instantly recharge even the most stressed out and crankiest of office drones.

Leave it up to enterprising designers to come up with a solution (this one offered up by Jinsun Park and Seonkeun Park) called the "Breathing Partition".

What is essentially a portable high density polyethylene privacy wall with a built-in plant growing system, it enables busy-busy worker bees to enjoy a slice of Mother Nature without any of the time constraints or maintenance concerns.

With a watering chamber and strategic delivery gear contained within the top of the wall partition, whatever greenery you decide to plant inside of it will be perpetually happy and lush -- no casualties should ever occur!

Instead of tearing yourself away from your mountains of paperwork, flowcharts and reports, you can come up for air every few minutes or so by admiring the greenery growing out of your little partition and then get back to work stat!!

I appreciate the thought behind this design -- rah rah to the creative idea people referenced above -- but on second thought, if we no longer have an excuse to step away from our desks, who's going to solve the problem of our leg muscles atrophying?

Perhaps this demonstrates after all that there is sometimes nothing like the real thing, but Park & Park have certainly given it a great shot.
